We hold monthly meetings, generally on the second Saturday of each month at Stine's Lake Charles and Sulphur, a member's shop or a local craftsman's commercial shop and occasionally elsewhere (depending on the subject of the meeting). Within each meeting we discuss safety, techniques and members show off their latest work.
Our membership includes amateur and professional woodworkers in the fields of wood turning, cabinet making, carving, scroll work, box making, marquetry, Intarsia and more at all levels of skills and interest. Please Join to learn from us and teach us.
SAFETY and EDUCATION
Safety in woodworking almost goes without saying. But you know, when standing behind that table saw or carving hard with a carvers knife or performing almost any shop work, one slip could mean serious injury. Always think about safety in your shop or workplace. We have discussion and demonstrations of woodworking techniques.
